Come Race with Us…
2013 NDR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
July 28th – August 3rd, 2013
Bowling Green, KY
The NDR is excited to announce that we will be replacing our entire wheel bank with a new precision wheel for the 2013 NDR National Championships in Bowling Green, KY, July 28-August 3. Two-hundred high quality CNC machined billet aluminum wheels are currently in process and will be complete for the 2013 Championship event.
State of the art technology is being used by Zero Error Racing, Inc. to design and manufacture these wheels, to ensure they will be top of the line, in terms of quality and precision! Zero Error Racing is a lead manufacturer of wheels and high quality after-market racing components for the Jr. Dragster, Karting and Quarter Midget racing industries.
The NDR strives to host the fairest race around and these new wheels are another step that we are taking to ensure consistency and an even playing field. These precision wheels will be exclusive to the NDR National Championship race and will not be available for sale.
All dimensions were based off of the current Z-glass wheels. The weight difference between the current Z-Glass wheels and new wheels will be compensated for at the 2013 Nationals. For example, if the wheels are three pounds per set heavier than a set of z-glass wheels, we will adjust the weight for each division accordingly.
We understand that you may have questions about this change and we plan to keep you updated with pictures and information throughout the manufacturing process. Above, you will find the final design of the wheel. We hope that you are as excited as we are for this technology advancement and great opportunity that has been presented to the NDR.
The quality and innovative design of this wheel bank will help to ensure that the NDR remains, “The Real Race and not the Wheel Race.”
Welcome to the new and improved NDR website.
My name is Ruthie Shuff and I am your 2012/13 NDR President. I have been involved in soap box derby since 1987 and have been an active NDR board member for four years. I am a four-time NDR National Champion and I am honored to hold the position as NDR President.
Besides soap box derby I am involved in multiple forms of racing. I helped form Zero error racing out of passion our family has for racing and still hold the position of Vice President as silent partner. I am currently a project manager at Pneumatic Scale Angelus in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
I have many goals for the NDR organization. One of my immediate goals was the launching of this new website to maintain the operations of our organization and to better communicate with the membership. I hope that you will participate on this site and share your comments, photos or blogs.
If you missed the 2012 Nationals in Bowling Green, KY then you missed the $6,000 in prizes; IPad2, Tablets, TV’s, gaming systems and much more. This doen’t include the backpack welcome bags, personalized participation plaques with photo of racer and their car and the family fun. The best part of all is the thrill of racing with the best competition in the Nation.
The NDR is a family to me and I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your support and membership. Please know that I have an open door policy and can be reached if you have any questions or concerns. The NDR is a membership driven organization. We are made up of 100% volunteers and rely on the help, support and input of our membership.
With everyone’s support, I look forward to making the 2013 Bowling Green, KY Nationals an event to be remembered in NDR history.
