  NDR Rally Program

Official NDR Rally Program Policy

The following is the Official NDR Rally Program as presented and implemented following the 2000 National Championships in Saginaw, Michigan.  These rally rules are effective beginning with the 2001-2002 race season.

So, without further adieu.....

Table of Contents

NDR Rally Program - Overview

  1. The United States and Canada were divided into 9 regions.

  2. A Regional Racing Program was developed to increase participation by racers and to add to the overall number of rallies.

  3. Regional points championships were developed to send prequalified finalists to the NDR National Championships

  4. Regional Championship races may now be held in all regions to send prequalified finalists to the NDR National Championships.

  5. National points will still be maintained to establish the "Top 8" positions in each division.  "Top 8" point earners will continue to be prequalified finalists at the NDR National Championships

  6. Membership and minimum race participation was maintained.

Regional Rally Program

  1. The awarding of points at NDR Rallies has not changed.

  2. Regional Point Standings will be maintained by the NDR Records Keeper

  3. The number of top point earners that a region my send as prequalified finalists to the NDR National Championships is based on the number of NDR Rallies held in that region:
    4 to 8 Rallies = 1 Prequalified Finalist
    9 to 14 Rallies = 2 Prequalifed Finalists
    15 to 20 Rallies = 3 Prequalified Finalists
21 or More Rallies = 4 Prequalified Finalists

  4. The only points that are considered for the Regional Points Championship are those points earned within your region.  These are Regional Specific Points.

  5. These prequalified finalists positions are limited to those racers who earned the points.  If the racer does not attend the NDR National Championships, that prequalified finalist position is lost to that region.

  6. All racers must have their NDR membership in place prior to collecting NDR Points.  All racers must compete in at least four NDR races during the racing season regardless of any prequalified status.

Regional Championship Races

  1. In order to hold a Regional Championship Race, a Region must conduct at least four NDR rallies during that racing season.

  2. The top three finishers in each division will be awarded a prequalified finalist's position at the NDR National Championships.

  3. Racers from any region are welcome at all Regional Championship races.

  4. A racer may tie-up only one regional race prequalified finalist position.

  5. Once a racer accomplishes a prequalified finalist position, they may continue to compete in other Regional Championship Races to collect points and trophies.

  6. If an established prequalified finalist finishes in the top three at an additional Regional Championship Race, the prequalified finalist status will be awarded to the next eligible racer.

  7. If any of these prequalified finalists choose not to attend the NDR National Championships, that position is lost to the Region.

  8. The standard NDR points system will be used for awarding points.  The awarding of double points has been eliminated.  A system will be developed to handle ties.

  9. All racers must have their NDR membership in place prior to collecting NDR Points.  All racers must compete in at least four NDR rallies regardless of any prequalified status.

  10. A system will have to be developed to allow Regional Championship Races to move around the Region fairly.

National Points - Top 8

  1. Racers can collect points anywhere in the United States and Canada.

  2. The Top 8 point earners in each division will be prequalified finalists at the NDR Nationals

  3. Special awards will be presented to the Top 8 at Nationals.

  4. The awarding of prequalified finalists positions at NDR Nationals are limited to just the Top 8 in each division, whether they choose to attend NDR Nationals or not.

  5. A Feature Race will be held at Nationals to include eight cars in each division in attendance, starting with first place and moving down to fill the field of eight cars.

  1. All racers/families must have their NDR Membership in place to collect NDR points and/or get credit for racing.

  2. To compete at the NDR National Championships, all racers must have raced in four NDR Rallies.

  3. Racers that are not prequalified finalists for the NDR National Championship may still attend, having met the minimum requirements as outlined.   Qualifying races will be available to allow a driver to make the field of drivers for the Championship race.
